Google Cloud Summit Doha 2026: Complex Overlays, One Powerful Solution

The client asked for multiple overlays and picture-in-picture configurations that traditional vision mixers couldn't deliver cleanly. The graphics had to layer across two separate outputs, simultaneously feeding out to live stream and IMAG. The question wasn't whether we could do it, but how we would do it without the typical limitations of traditional M/E based systems. Enter the Panasonic Kairos.
The third edition of Google Cloud Summit Doha 2026 ran on 22 September at DECC, bringing together over 1,700 attendees and 300 senior decision-makers from across the region. For 1507.media, it marked our first collaboration with Imagination Dubai, the agency bringing the summit to life on the technical side. Running a complex multi-stage broadcast for one of Google Cloud's flagship regional events is a show of confidence, and one we made sure to deliver on.
Our Broadcast Solution at Google Cloud Summit Doha 2026
At the core of the operation sat the Panasonic Kairos, handling the heavy lifting that traditional vision mixers struggle with. Kairos uses powerful scenes instead of conventional M/Es, which gave us the flexibility to build the overlay and PIP configurations the client required without compromise. Three Panasonic AK-UC4000 cameras and one AW-UE150 PTZ camera captured the main stage, all synchronised through the Kairos and routed to multiple IMAG screens in real time.
For the innovation stage, we deployed our compact Presentation Suite. The setup let presenters control 2 PCs running Google Slides and 2 Mac Minis for Keynote presentations, all from a single keyboard and mouse, keeping the technical footprint minimal and the presenter experience seamless.

Why Kairos Solved the Problem
Traditional vision mixers rely on a fixed number of M/Es (mix effects banks) and keys. The moment you need overlays that sit outside that structure, you're out of luck. Kairos' scene-based architecture gave us room to stack the graphics, text and video windows the client wanted without running into the typical walls. Two stages running different content meant we could configure them independently on one system and manage them in parallel, something that would have required two separate hardware vision mixers a few years ago.
Live Streams and Real-Time Broadcast
Over the day, we captured and streamed live through our broadcast infrastructure. All feeds routed through the Kairos with high-reliability delivery, reaching the wider Google Cloud audience in real time across both stages.
What This Moment Means for 1507.media
First collaboration with Imagination Dubai on an event of this scale is meaningful. Google Cloud Summit Doha is a marquee regional event, and the technical complexity of running it on Kairos rather than a traditional console made the difference. When a major agency and an international brand entrust you with that kind of work on a first run, it's because they've seen what you can do and believe you'll execute.
